Brandon Moonin shares Karen Katelnikoff's description of an Elder in Chenega who would use one specific fingernail to split grass. Dawn Randazzo suggests it may have been the thumbnail, used to split the spine of the grass. Randazzo also describes how traditional weaving techniques involve no knots, with new strands continuously added in instead.
